ReplyDeleteIn many preschools and anganwadis, a common difficulty is a lack of resources, both in terms of educational materials and staff. To involve parents and community members, a collaborative approach can be effective. Organizing community meetings to discuss the challenges and seek input on resource contributions, volunteer support, or skill-sharing can be a good start.
ReplyDeleteApproaching parents with specific requests, such as donating educational materials, volunteering time, or sharing expertise, fosters a sense of ownership and community involvement.
Plan an activity to develop Finemotor domain or gross motor development in presence of Community Or parents so that children be appreciated
ReplyDeleteIt is a Herculean task to bring allthe parents to the school and practically impossible also.Further, parents are nowadays working members of the family and they cannot give their time to the school. Also many if the parents hesitate to contact the school or visit the same because of their discrepancies.Parents are still too casual to think of Anganwadi Services.
ReplyDeleteThe active participation of the parents can be possible only when the regular PTM are held and parents are allowed to speak in whichever language they prefer to speak.Further, curtailing the time frame when the parents can spare just 10-15 minutes of their hectic schedules can go a long way to reach out to them and apprise them of the programs of the Anganwadi Teachers.
Teachers, parents and communities should interact more and be more involved with each other to solve any problems related to the children.

One way to approach them is by organizing community meetings or workshops, where we can discuss the challenges and brainstorm solutions together. By fostering a sense of collaboration and shared responsibility, we can work towards making the situation better for everyone involved.

ReplyDeleteMany cases it happens that parents do not much interest in Anganwadi education as they think real schooling stars once they go in std 1. Hence absentee and ignoring the development of the child regarding learning is common. Awareness should be created among such parents.

If we can create a successful involvement between school and community I think this will come up with many new achievements and will give positive outcomes.
ReplyDelete1)Involvement of parents to volunteer to help during school program to accompany during the theme based project.
ReplyDelete2)Community involvement identifies the resources from community and then utilising the same to strengthen the programme. Eg. Taking helping of a community doctor to develop health awareness among family members and the preschool as a whole.
The difficulty faced are power cot, lack of sufficient space and cleanliness.
ReplyDeleteWe can approach the CDPO and approach the sarpanch and request to solve the problem and also provide sufficient space for outdoor activities.
Regular communication should be gone between the pre school teacher and parent
ReplyDeleteActivities for each domain of development are as follows:
ReplyDelete1. Physical and motor development: Hopscotch:
Hopping and jumping require strong gross motor skills, balance, and coordination. Hopscotch is a simple way to practice those skills. (As a bonus, it can help practice number skills, too!) If you don’t have a sidewalk to draw on or a playground nearby, you can set up hallway hopscotch using painter’s tape.
2. Socio-emotional development:
Role-play
Understanding emotions, emotional reactions, and situations is the most critical element of successful interactions with others. Role-play can benefit students by demonstrating appropriate emotional responses and allowing them to practice in a safe environment.
3. Cognitive development:
Puzzles
Jigsaw puzzles help children develop spatial abilities and problem-solving strategies which aid in cognitive development.
4.Language and literacy development:
Storytelling:
While storybooks provide ample entertainment, sharing stories – whether real or make-believe – can provide a good bonding time with your children while helping develop their communication skills. Exchange stories about daily events. Broaden their imagination with fantastical stories and let their creativity grow as you make up stories about anything and everything around them.

Everyone should spend time and teach whatever they know and share their knowledge
ReplyDeleteSometime an AW can face some issues in communicating with an introvert child , so here it needs the parental support . A Teacher can casually meet the parents in the morning time when they come to drop the child or they can call them to school or contact them as per their comfort.
ReplyDeleteParents play a vital role in bringing up children next to teachers. They should have a regular community meeting with the teacher to know the nuances of the child completely which will not only help in the development of the child but also builds a strong foundation for both parents and teachers in bringing up the child.
ReplyDeleteUsually there is not much interest on the part of the parents to follow up on what is happening at the anganwadi centre. This can be be rectified by proper dissemination of information through proper communication and awareness of the facilities and activities of the anganwadi centre.
ReplyDeleteSmall level PTMs are required to approach such parents. Even timimg of meetings should be flexible.AWWs can reach to the parent's place home/ workplace can steal some of their time for the improvement of foundational skills of their wards.

Children may be anxious or feel shy or introvert, so it is important to createbond with parents to know better about the children and their background and difficulties
ReplyDeleteProblems like scanty resources and infrastructure can be resolved by crowdfunding in the community through the well-established members. Parents and community members can act as resource persons in entertaining children. Competitions can be conducted for the parents; community kitchen can be established and parents may come together for a participative meal together. Days like Grandparents Day, Mother's Day national days such as Republic Day or even days of religious importance such as Makar Shankranti, Christmas or Eid can be celebrated together. There may be educative film shows for students and parents or even community so much hat they can be entertained, spend time together relax and even develop trust in the institution
ReplyDeleteParents can be involved in certain campaigns to create awareness in the society. They can be helpful in vaccination camps. They can also be made to involve themselves in celebration of our national and traditional festivals to imbibe oneness and knowledge of the same in learners.
ReplyDeleteMeaningful partnership between teachers , parents and community is very important for proper development of the child.we can use different people of community as human resource in our classroom
ReplyDeleteGross motor skills: Gross motor skills involve moving large muscles such as the arms, legs, torso, and back. Gross motor involves whole-body movements and allows us to do physical activities such as walking, running, jumping, balancing, and lifting.
ReplyDeleteFine motor skills: Fine motor skills involve small body muscles, such as those in hands, wrists, and fingers. The development of these skills refers to coordinating these muscles with eyes to achieve daily activities such as grasping food, turning door knobs, opening zippers, and brushing teeth.

Like this it will be an enlightening experience for school's atmosphere and students will also enjoy. We can always contact them personally.
ReplyDeleteChanging mind set of illeterate parents that their school visit is must, is really difficult.
ReplyDeleteBeing aware of FLN module and different aspect of holistic development despite being concerned only about Formal Reading and writing would definitely help tha development of children.

ReplyDeleteCooperation of staff and parents
ReplyDeleteWhen I’ve visited preschools or Anganwadis, I’ve noticed several challenges that could be solved with help from parents and the community. For example, there’s often a lack of resources like books, toys, or learning materials. Infrastructure issues, such as broken furniture or poor sanitation, are common too. Teachers often struggle with low manpower, and many parents aren’t actively engaged, partly because they don’t fully understand the importance of their involvement.
ReplyDeleteTo address this, I think we can start by mobilizing resources through donations from parents, local businesses, or even small fundraisers. Volunteering could help too—parents could assist with storytelling, craft sessions, or even cleaning drives. Workshops can educate parents and community members about how vital their participation is for a child’s development. It’s important to approach people personally, make them feel valued, and show them how their efforts can create a better environment for children.
